RING -P Pall Ring
Pall ring is used for filling work volume of packed columns and devices. It is aimed at increasing intensity of heat exchange and mass-transfer processes in chemical, petrochemical, oil-refining equipment, etc. Ring-R is also to be used in sewage and water supply systems, in ammonia and mineral fertilizers production.
Pall rings refer to random packing. Acid-resistant ceramic packing material is used for filling packed columns of other mass transfer equipment which works at the temperature from 0 to 120 Celsius degree for acid environment.
Comparing to Raschig rings, Pall rings are characterized by better throughput and lower hydraulic pressure. They have also better separation efficiency and degree of wetting due to the perforated structure. Their open, cross-linked design results in a highly efficient use of the ring's surface area, thereby reducing pressure loss. Polypropylene and metal packing provide good gas distribution at high mass transfer.
P-Rings can be made of metal, polypropylene and ceramics.
